New ice-cream from Ben & Jerry’s?

Ben and Jerry are now trying make money from the Internet phenomenon 2 girls and 1 cup (or is is it two girls one cup, 1 cup and 2 girls, or even 2 girls 1 cop? Who cares, it is just yucky (is yucky a word?).

Kevin Coster is a Turkish movie star

kevin-turksterNo, not really. But Kevin Costner has received so few exciting feature film opportunities that he has agreed to “act” in Turkish Airlines commercials (or maybe they just paid him a shitload for an easy job). Costner commented on the unlikely collaboration: “I have not flown with Turkish Airlines before, but I have received commercial proposals before. What is important is to work with a company that gives importance to its clients. That is why I have chosen Turkish Airlines.”

So how do you know that when you have never flown with them? I would read the last sentence like this: “What is important is to work with a company that gives importance to paying you a shitload”.

If I would do the same if I was Kevin Costner? Hell yeah!

Bratticus nobilis - also known as “fryer”

Quoting Encyclopedia Britannica:

Bratticus Nobilis is Latin for what people in Sweden call “stekare” (”fryer”) or “brat” as in spoiled child. Bratticus nobilis are usually young guys with gelled hair combed backwards, a plain but expensive shirt, tight trousers, and with their head slightly tilted backwards so as to better look down on others.

They live on champagne (”skumpa”) and oysters and usually don’t mate outside their breed. That would be labelled as unincestive and be punished by piercing of various bodyparts.

Bratticus Nobilis usually drive nice cars that their dads pay for and they frequently emit “eeeee”-sounds.

Bratticus Nobilis can be spotted in different parts of Stockholm. Mostly around Stureplan and Lidingö (”Liiiiiidingö”).  There is no risk of them going extinct anytime soon.

Google, New York

Google is known for having playground-like offices. I mean, do these people actually work? And if so, when do they play/relax? Do they never leave the office? Are these benefits compensation for low salaries? Or is it just very nice and googlish? Give me your thoughts.

Hmmm…?

This commercial lands in the category of “Hmmm…?” I mean, what is the message and how does it sell? This animated movie raises more questions than it provides answers.

Design clichés á la Efva

The Swedish designer Efva Attling loves to use worn and pretentious expressions like “Carpe diem” on her jewellery. I did an alternative version of her ad for the watch “Time will come”. You can find the ad in the latest copy of Elle. Don’t ask me why I read it. Ask my girlfriend.

The worst commercial ever

In 1964 the Democratic party in the U.S. made a commercial for their presidential candidate, Lyndon Johnson. Something went wrong. The online magazine State has called it the worst commercial ever. What do you think?
